  • Each SnackTime Explorers lesson is linked to Pilot Light’s Food Education Standards, incorporates CASEL skills, and takes approximately 15-20 minutes of classroom time. We encourage all teachers to adapt the lessons to meet their individual classroom and scheduling needs.

  • No, Pilot Light is not responsible for FFVP distribution and scheduling. However, we are happy to support you by connecting you to your district’s school nutrition and cafeteria managers. Please contact your district’s school nutrition and cafeteria managers for all distribution and quality issues.

  • As mentioned above, Pilot Light does not distribute FFVP boxes. All distribution questions should be directed to your school’s nutrition team or cafeteria manager.

    However, we are always happy to support and problem-solve with you while you contact your school’s nutrition team to help locate your box!

  • SnackTime Explorers has been specifically designed to accompany FFVP produce

    items. We strongly encourage you to implement the lessons with snacks to cover the

    tasting portion of the lessons. We are happy to work with you and find alternative ways

    for your classroom to access food samples.

  • No! While we applaud your ambition, only Lead Teachers are required to implement the lessons themselves and assist 2 additional teachers with the SnackTime Explorers toolkit at their school.

  • The FFVP has been designed to bring fruit and vegetable snacks exclusively into classrooms as a way to encourage increased familiarity with different types of produce and overall produce consumption. SnackTime Explorers has been crafted to enhance your classroom instructional time by adding a fun, hands-on educational element to your classroom’s snack time! We encourage you to familiarize yourself with the USDA’s FFVP Program guidelines for more information.

  • No, you cannot be a Lead Teacher more than once, but you can continue to use the SnackTime Explorers resources!
